Community

Reproductive health does not happen in isolation.

Your health is shaped by more than what happens in a consultation room. Culture, food, family, community, beliefs, and the information around you can all influence how you understand and manage your reproductive health. Femin9 is designed to bring those realities into the conversation.

We are building a reproductive health platform that combines clinically informed guidance with a better understanding of the cultural contexts in which women actually live.

Your culture matters. Your questions matter. Your context matters.

01 / Why Community Matters

Where information really comes from

For many women, reproductive health decisions are influenced by conversations with family, friends, faith communities, social networks, and people who have experienced similar journeys. These sources of support can be valuable, but they can also be where misinformation spreads.

Femin9 aims to make reliable information easier to understand and more relevant to the communities we serve, while keeping professional healthcare at the centre of important health decisions.

Femin9 does not replace doctors, midwives, nurses, or other healthcare professionals. It is designed to help women understand their health, prepare better questions, keep track of important information, and find relevant sources of support.

02 / One Platform. Different Journeys.

Every reproductive journey is different

The goal is continuity. Your reproductive health should not feel like a series of disconnected chapters.

Trying to Conceive

Understand your cycle, fertility information, and the changes taking place in your body.

Pregnancy

Keep important pregnancy information, symptoms, appointments, and health guidance organised throughout your journey.

Postpartum

Continue tracking your own recovery while navigating the physical and emotional changes that follow birth.

Menstrual Health

Build a clearer understanding of your cycle, symptoms, and patterns over time.

Perimenopause & Menopause

Track changes and symptoms as your reproductive health evolves.

03 / Cultural Intelligence

Context, not assumptions

Cultural relevance does not mean assuming that every woman from a particular background eats the same food, follows the same traditions, or has the same beliefs. It means recognising that those factors can matter.

Femin9 focuses particularly on women from West African, Caribbean, and South Asian communities in the UK, where culturally familiar foods, traditional practices, family structures, and community influences can sometimes intersect with reproductive healthcare. For example, a woman may have questions about foods such as egusi, bitter leaf, moringa, or ackee during pregnancy. She may also need help understanding how general UK health guidance applies to the way she actually eats and lives.

Femin9 is being developed to make that context easier to navigate without compromising clinical responsibility.

04 / Shared Perspectives

Built with the people it's intended to serve

Femin9 is being developed with input from healthcare professionals who understand the importance of responsible reproductive health information. Our clinical advisory approach helps us review health content, identify areas where users may need clearer explanations, and consider how guidance can remain relevant across different cultural contexts.

Community perspectives are equally important. Listening to women and understanding the questions they actually ask helps us build something more useful than a generic health information platform.

The objective is simple: build with the people the platform is intended to serve.

05 / Clinical & Community Connections

Good information is only part of the journey

Femin9 is designed to help users identify relevant sources of support. Where a situation requires professional medical attention, the platform should make that distinction clear rather than attempting to replace clinical care.

06 / Partners & Family

Support should include the people around you

Reproductive health often affects more than one person. Partners and family members can play an important role during conception, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and other stages of reproductive health. Femin9 recognises that better understanding can lead to better support.

Our wider vision is to make reliable reproductive health information easier for the people around women to understand, so that conversations about health do not have to happen alone.

07 / Principles

What guides how we build Femin9

Respect

Every woman has her own experiences, values, culture, and circumstances.

Cultural Awareness

We consider cultural context without reducing people to cultural stereotypes.

Clinical Responsibility

Health information should be grounded in established evidence and appropriate professional oversight.

Privacy

Reproductive health information is personal. Trust requires responsible handling of user information.

Inclusion

The platform should remain useful to women with different backgrounds, experiences, family structures, and reproductive journeys.

Better Conversations

Good information should help women have more informed conversations with the healthcare professionals supporting them.

08 / Growing Together

A community that grows with Femin9

Femin9 is still developing. Our community vision will evolve alongside the platform, informed by user experiences, clinical input, research, and the needs of the women we serve.

We are not building a community around noise or unverified advice. We are building toward a space where cultural context, clinically informed information, and meaningful support can exist together.

Reproductive health is personal. The support around it should be too.
